In this study, conductive Ag/PEEK susceptor films were used to induction-weld non-conductive glass fiber/PEEK (GF/PEEK) thermoplastic composites, and the welding performance was evaluated as a function of Ag content. Ag/PEEK films containing 40, 50, and 60 wt.% Ag were fabricated by mixing Ag nanoparticles and PEEK powder, and their electrical conductivity and heating characteristics were evaluated. Both electrical conductivity and heating performance increased with Ag content, with the 60 wt.% Ag/PEEK film exhibiting the highest values of 50,606 S/m and 439.4°C, respectively. Non-destructive inspection and cross-sectional analysis showed that the 50 wt.% condition provided the most uniform weld quality. The specimens welded with the 50 wt.% film exhibited the highest interlaminar and single-lap shear strengths of 18.5 MPa and 12.3 MPa, respectively, corresponding to improvements of 79.6% and 127.7% over those welded using stainless steel mesh. The results demonstrate the applicability of Ag/PEEK conductive susceptors for induction welding of non-conductive GF/PEEK composites.
본 연구에서는 전도성 서셉터(Susceptor) Ag/PEEK 필름을 활용하여 비전도성 열가소성 복합재 유리섬유/PEEK를 유도용접하고, Ag의 함량에 따른 유도용접 성능을 평가하였다. Ag 입자와 PEEK 입자를 혼합하여 Ag의 무게분율이 각각 40 wt.%, 50 wt.%, 60 wt.%인 전도성 서셉터를 제작하였으며, 함량 변화에 따른 전기전도도와 발열 특성을 측정하였다. Ag 입자의 함량이 증가할수록 전기전도도와 발열 성능이 향상되는 것을 확인하였으며, Ag 무게분율이 60 wt.%인 Ag/PEEK 필름에서 전기전도도와 최고 온도가 각각 50,606 S/m 및 439.4°C로 가장 높게 나타났다. 비파괴검사 및 단면 분석 결과, 50 wt.% 조건에서 가장 균일한 용접 품질을 나타내었다. 접합강도 평가 결과, 50 wt.% Ag/PEEK 필름을 적용한 시편의 층간 전단강도와 단일겹침 전단강도가 각각 18.5 MPa, 12.3 MPa로 측정되어 가장 우수한 접합 성능을 나타내었다. 이는 스테인리스강 메쉬를 활용하여 유도용접한 경우 대비 각각 79.6% 및 127.7% 향상된 결과로 Ag/PEEK 전도성 서셉터가 비전도성 유리섬유/PEEK의 유도용접 접합에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다
